Noel McKenna: Landscape – Mapped
After fifteen years, Noel McKenna’s is presenting his project “Landscape – Mapped” in full at the Queensland Art Gallery. The series consists of large map paintings that demonstrate a new approach to ordering the contents of Australia along with peculiar themes such as public swimming pools, dangerous animals, and butterflies. The exhibition was a wonderful sense of wit as it overlooks the redundancy of physical maps in our era of global positioning systems (GPS) and Google Earth.
The exhibition is on now until the 2nd of April 2018 at the Queensland Art Gallery in Gallery number 14. Entry is free.
