The Urban Sea

For one-night only at the Tomcat, The Urban Sea (formerly known as Fugue) will launch their band with idio and Dylan Cattanach. The Urban Sea have been kicking around the streets of Brisbane in one form or another since mid-2016. The genre-fluid six piece have always been a melting pot of influences, ranging from rock to R&B however, more recently they’ve found their groove forging their own unique soulful sound. The Urban Sea have an arsenal of instruments at their disposal, giving them a funky and upbeat foundation for their lead singer’s emotive and evocative vocals, Chris MacDonald. Joining us are acoustic indie pop artist, Dylan Cattanach, who started 2019 on a high as first support for two of Pete Murray’s 2019 Summer sessions; and the band idio. The band formed after discovering a shared passion for the genre, featuring Josh Kameus (Bass), Hamish Blake (Guitar), Josh Batka (Drums) and Evie Levonis (Vocals).
