Great Barrier Beer launched its campaign for its newest beer in support of the Australian Marine Conservation Society at Ballistic Beer Co on Wednesday 3 October.

After a trial selling a pilot across Queensland, the brand has returned with a new style of beer, an Australian Lager boasting all-Australian ingredients, a new brewery partner, new branding and served in cans.

Entrepreneur James Grugeon started The Good Beer Co to brew beers for good causes and since then, has inspired change by demonstrating what purpose-led businesses can achieve. It is a social enterprise that strives to produce beer to raise awareness and funds. James’ vision has led him to be one of Queensland Government’s 100 Faces of Small Business and is a finalist in the 2018 Lord Mayor of Brisbane’s Business Awards in the Channel 7 Business Person of the Year Award.

Supporters of the Great Barrier Beer turned up at Ballistic West End to commemorate the launch and the event also included guests such as Kate Jones MP, Minister for Innovation and Tourism and Darren Kindleysides, the Director of the Australian Marine Conservation Society. Great Barrier Beer supports the Australian Marine Conservation Society and its Fight for Our Reef campaigns which helps to fund works to protect the Great Barrier Reef from climate change and pollution.

Great Barrier Beer is one of the only beers in Australia to support the work of a charity, helping to raise awareness of the need to protect the reef as well to reach out to new audiences. Ten per cent from the sale of every carton or keg of Great Barrier Beer goes to help the Australian Marine Conservation Society.
