Popular Brisbane hangout Hoo Ha Bar has relocated, opening up shop in South Brisbane’s Melbourne Street.

The trendy, fully licensed bar operated for almost five years at a nifty corner on Tribune Street before its relocation. Now called Hoo Ha Coffee Bar, the “hole in the wall” coffee shop opened Monday 12 February swapping cocktails for coffee, with a new range of soft drinks, pastries and cakes.

South Brisbane locals have quietly anticipated the bars new location as owners Declan, Mike and Anthony remained determined to stay in the area.

Luckily, the team has found a space to fit the small coffee bar, now located at 59 Melbourne Street.

Competing against a variety of hip new cafes in the area, owner Anthony believes the quick and friendly service with items that are easy to grab and go will set them apart from competitors.

“The big difference is that we are designed for convenience. We are the only one in the immediate area with a service window,” said Anthony.

The new coffee bar continues to support small local businesses, serving Brisbane’s Fonzie Abbott Coffee with treats provided by independent producers from South Brisbane locals Wandering Cooks.

The shop will be dishing out favourites provided by Indie Treats and Cherry Bomb Cakes.

“As we are a small business, it has always been really important to us. Throughout the years we partnered with lots of small local businesses and had great success. We will also be looking to partner with some local charities and non for profit organisations down the track. With Hoo Ha Coffee Bar we just want to add to the local scene in South Brisbane and Fish Lane.”

Hoo Ha Coffee Bar is open 6am to 3pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to midday Saturday.
