To launch the 29th annual Brisbane Pride Festival, eight LGBTIQ couples with eight wonderful stories tied the knot in front of some of Brisbane’s best queer performers at King Street on Saturday 8 September. In a celebration of love, life and commitment, the declaration took place in the electorate that polled the highest Yes vote in Queensland in last year’s marriage equality survey. Gai Lemon was the marriage celebrant on the day, with performances from Katie Noonan, Andrea Kirwin, and more.
