Suki hosted a private VIP launch to 150 people at South Bank, treating party goers Brisbane’s hottest new food trend ‘poke bowls’ on Wednesday, 12 April. Meaning to section, cut or slice and pronounced ‘po-keh’, poke is traditionally known as a fish salad originating from the Aloha state. At the event, guests enjoyed beats and bubbles along with Suki’s signature sushi burritos and ramen from RAMEN on Grey (located next door). Owners Eddie Isik and Leon McNiece (Ole Restaurant, Mucho Mexicano) have had the new Japanese eatery in the works for more than 18 months, which officially opened to the general public on Tuesday, 18 April.
