Art lovers gathered at the Queensland College of Art Galleries on Wednesday 8 November to celebrate the launch of the Kurilpa Collection. First formed in 2007, The Kurilpa Collection united twenty people by their common interest in art to pool their resources, time and energy into acquiring contemporary artworks from the primary market to hang in their homes. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of acquiring and collecting the collection in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart, and it also marks the end of the decade long collaboration. In order to honor it properly, the 58 works that make up The Kurilpa Collection were displayed for the first time.
