A record 12,000 participants created a sea of pink at this year’s RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run held at South Bank on Sunday, 5 March. Fourteen-year-old Tayla Behr from St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School was the first female to cross the 5km finish line. Fundraising has also reached a new record, with the tally currently at more than $492,000. These funds will be donated to Mater Chicks in Pink to provide tangible support services for women with breast cancer, as well as to fund life-saving research programs at Mater Research to better understand and treat breast cancer. You too can show your support at www.womensdayfunrun.com.au.
