One of Australia’s most successful heavy music export The Amity Affliction, has been announced as part of the second installment of the Brisbane Festival.

Supported by Underoath, Crossfaith and Pagan, the band will be part of the 30th anniversary of the Brisbane Festival’s Riverstage celebration. The show, Heaven And Hell, will feature performances by Southeast Desert Metal, Void of Vision, Endless Heights, Thornill and many more to be announced.

The Amity Affliction claimed its fourth consecutive Number One ARIA chart debut with their sixth studio album, Misery. The album remained at Number One on the iTunes album chart for its first week of release. Along with Silverchair and Powderfinger, The Amity Affliction is one in a handful of Australian artists who have accomplished four consecutive Number One ARIA album debuts. The band’s previous Number One albums were Chasing Ghosts, Let The Ocean Take Me and This Could Be Heartbreak.

Amity Affliction has also released a documentary which chronicled the their history up through their Let The Ocean Take Me World Tour. Seems Like Forever was awarded a Number One ARIA Gold certified documentary. Vocalist, Joel Birch, wrote and co-directed a short film which combined the cinematic videos of the songs Ivy (Doomsday), Feels Like I’m Dying and D.I.E. These videos have a combined total view of over 2.2 million on YouTube.

Now, fresh off two performances at Download Australia and sold-out crowds around the globe, the Heaven and Hell show at the Brisbane Festival is expected to be one of Amity Affliction’s biggest yet.
