Brothers Kris and Josh Barry launched their new venture, Barry Bros, an organic online grocery store, last month. Former owners of Organika food store in Noosaville, Kris and Josh want to challenge your traditional notions of organic shopping.

Adding a new twist on the paddock-to-plate trend with online ordering and delivering, Barry Bros allows Brisbane foodies to get their locally-grown, organic groceries dropped to their front doors. Barry Bros stocks everything from meats and pantry items to toiletries.

Motivated by a mantra of choosing sustainable, ethically sourced and organically farmed products, Kris and Josh have maintained their dedication and passion for food.

“Raised on a farm, supporting local farmers and producers has always been important to us,” said Josh.

Kris and Josh both grew up working in their parents’ green grocer, Wild About Fruit, at Nambour on the Sunshine Coast. They opened their own store in 2007, with a strong focus on organics.

“Our parents also farmed fruit and vegetables so we grew up in the agricultural world,” said Josh.

“Organic food has come a long way in the past decade.

Barry Bros is about bringing it even further by offering the convenience of online ordering and home delivery.”

Some of Barry Bros’ locally-sourced products include Coyo’s coconut-based dairy alternatives from Yandina; Buchi Kombucha’s beverages from Wacol; Bun Coffee from Byron Bay and Kin Kin natural cleaning products from Noosa hinterland.

The duo currently stocks 3000 fresh and packaged items and has opened a distribution warehouse at Mansfield, Brisbane.
