BEMAC’s latest visual arts exhibition launched at the Queensland Multicultural Centre (QMC) in Kangaroo Point on Friday 15 February. Curated by Liam Herne, the current exhibition Here and There, which forms part of BEMAC’s Illuminate visual arts program, features work by artists who are based in Australia but are originally from or have strong ties to another country. Each artist in the exhibition was asked to respond to life in Australia and Australian culture and how their perceptions of these things are influenced by having links to somewhere else. The exhibition features artworks made with a range of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, paper cutting and textiles and will be on display until 9 March.
