If you are a fan of beer you have really hit the jackpot with Archive. Considered to be Brisbane’s premier craft beer bar and bistro, they have 14 constantly rotating draught beers on tap, and over 400 different kinds of domestic and imported bottle beers in their bar fridges- trust me, even if you don’t drink it- that is impressive!

But, if you aren’t a lover of beer (like yours truly), there are many other things about archive which make it an entertaining and interesting place to visit in the 4101 area.  Archive does lunches, share plates and dinners. The food by itself warrants a visit- these are hearty dishes; delicious, modern interpretations of the classic pub food. As an added bonus, the bar itself is incredibly visually pleasing. The first time I visited I was amazed by the décor!  Books are creatively used to decorate almost every surface and piece of furniture in this quirky establishment and the result is a particular look which adds to Archive’s unique atmosphere.

Aside from the aesthetics, another distinctive feature of Archive is the activities they host every day of the week, where the atmosphere is social and there are prizes to be won if it is your lucky night. So far I have only been to Tuesday night trivia, which is a lot of fun (although did leave me feeling inadequate about my lack of general knowledge). This was a great fun to do with some friends- we made a team and paid our $1 to participate which meant we went in the draw to win a premium case of Archive beer. Not my ideal prize to be honest but didn’t matter because we didn’t win. The questions were of a fairly high calibre and were derived from all aspects of life so advice for those who are in it to win it, my advice is to pick a team where everyone has a different niche.  In spite of this I would definitely recommend Tuesday Trivia- it was very entertaining, and I actually learned a lot too. Definitely a social occasion with a difference!

Wednesday nights at Archive are definitely not to be missed- its 2 for 1 main meals all day (a personal favourite of mine). My friends and I have formed even numbered groups and taken advantage of this on many occasions- ah the life of a uni student! For the weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday all have live music, and make a great atmospheric place to start, spend or finish your night.

Archive is a vibrant bar with a lot to offer and a place that truly captures the essence of the 4101 area. At 100 Boundary Street opposite the Hi-Fi, this place is worth checking out! For more information, visit their website:  www.archivebeerboutique.com.au
