Bris Funny Fest is back, with an array of international and Australian comedians taking over the city as they present more than 40 shows at 18 different locations from 2 to 20 August.

The festival and its acts will showcase a range of comedy styles and performances, covering topics from pop culture to life advice to modern movements.

“They’re exploring every topic you could want to hear about — how to find or avoid love, Game of Thrones, motherhood, modern masculinity, how to know when you’re an international sex icon, and why John Oxley was the mastermind behind Brisbane’s miserable qualities,” said festival director Steven Morgan.

The lineup includes solo acts like Matt Okine, Lindsay Webb, Lauren Randall and Sam Bowden and group performances such as Big Fork Theatre, ‘Am I Right Ladies?’ and ‘Lord of the Thrones: an epic improvised adventure’.

Bars, cafes and restaurants around Brisbane, will be hosting the funny men and women including the Heya Bar,The Milk Factory, Bloodhound Corner Bar and Kitchen, Sassafras Canteen and many more.

By bridging the gap between industry professionals, connected stakeholders and emerging performers, the Bris Funny Fest team hopes to foster and promote new material, emerging comedians, and a wide range of comedy.
