Byron Writers Festival

The Byron Writers Festival has announced their first guests and released early bird tickets for their annual celebration of storytelling. Attend the three-day festival to witness numerous idea-makers and risk-takers, such as Kurdish-Iranian refugee Behrouz Boochani, celebrated Australian author Markus Zusak, and Walkley Award-winning journalist Leigh Sales. A PEN International ‘Empty Chair’ will also sit on stage to symbolise a writer who cannot be present because they are detained, imprisoned, tortured, forced into exile or in other ways silenced. Acclaimed Mexican author Jennifer Clement will discuss important issues of press freedom.
