Renowned New York-based artist, Cindy Sherman launched her first Australian exhibition in 10 years that officially opened on Friday, May 27 at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). Cindy experiments¬†with costume, prosthetics, makeup and photography to create her masterpieces. She is one of the most recognised and influential artists of our time, expanding on contemporary society’s fascination with aspiration, narcissism and the cult of celebrity. This exhibition is an entirely new body of work, shown at GOMA for the first time outside¬†of New York. The exhibition will be open until 3 October.
