Brisbane International Film Fest
Jam packed with over 100 features, documentaries, and short films by emerging and established filmmakers from around the globe, the Brisbane International Film Festival kicks off with a bang! The festival will open with a red-carpet event at Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art, screening first-time director, Mirrah Foulkes’ 2019 film, Judy & Punch. BIFF will feature an array of events celebrating film, with live music, food, workshops, and discussion panels. As well as new cinema, classic pieces will also feature during the Brisbane International Film Festival, from Apocalypse Now to Russian science-fiction classic, Aelita: Queen of Mars (1924). BIFF will also spotlight Academy Award winning writer, director, and producer Baz Luhrmann, featuring his classic films including Strictly Ballroom (1992), Romeo + Juliet (1996).
