Frosty Fun for Kids
Kids are invited to take part in activities inspired by the Antarctica and Shackleton Exhibition currently on show in Gallery 2 of the Queensland Maritime Museum. The gallery includes a taxidermied husky and two taxitermied emperor penguins. Artist and art teacher Kathryn McGovern will assist the children with capturing the image of the husky or a penguin or their own pet. McGovern is known for her quirky, anthropomorphic animals. Other creative snow and ice themed activities include making snow and creating small snowmen and igloos, decorating cupcakes as snowmen and penguins and folding paper into origami krill, whales and penguin to create mobiles. Frosty Fun is designed for school-aged children and will be held on 20, 22 and 24 January.
