Go behind the scenes at Queensland State Archives to discover the techniques and processes involved in preserving the state’s historical documents. This tour will showcase the treatments for collection items and discuss the importance of preventative and restorative preservation for the archives. Join historian Dr Jenny Harrison and Manager of Preservation Services Elizabeth Radford for a rare unwrapping of Queensland State Archives’ original documents. Uncover the stories behind the convict hospital registers and cash books from the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement Hospital and how they reveal the narratives of characters in Life In Irons. The event will also be available to experience through an online webinar. Book early as places are strictly limited.
