Queensland Theatre’s Our Town
202o has held its fair share of setbacks and wild rides. However, that will not stop Pulitzer Prize-winning play Our Town from returning to Queensland Theatre. Directed by Queensland Theatre’s Artistic Director Lee Lewis, Our Town features a staggering 14 cast members, 12 of whom have been announced and are planned to be portrayed by some of the best actors in the country. The stellar cast includes the likes of Jimi Bani, Colin Smith, Libby Munro, Hugh Parker, Roanne McDonald, Andrew Buchanan, Jayden Popik, and Standish. Not only are these stars present, but they will be joined by first time Queensland theatre performers, Amy Lehpamer, Lucy Heathcote, Egan Sun-Bin, and Silvan Rus. “This is a big, classic play, bringing with it career-highlight roles with all the challenges that actors revel in performing. Casting acting greats alongside upcoming new talent has been a thrill, and we can’t wait to see the energy and learnings that emerge when rehearsals start in two weeks,” says Lee Lewis. Our Town is a story based on how the threads of everyday lives within a small town intertwine to create a rich, complex, funny, and heartbreaking fabric of a community.
