Talk & Screening: Nenette

Professor Barbara Creed, Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor, University of Melbourne will discuss themes of evolution and empathy in cinema, literature and human–animal ethics at Talk & Screening: Nenette. In conjunction with the Curious Affection: Film Program, the talk will be accompanied by a screening of Nicolas Philibert’s intimate documentary Nenette 2010 about a 40-year-old female orangutan who has spent her life in captivity at the Managerie du Jardin des Plantes Zoo in Paris.
