The occasion on the Brisbane shopping calendar that we all get excited about…James Street Up Late.
Last Thursday night’s James Street Up Late celebration certainly lived up to expectations. A combination of store discounts, a chance to meet some of the Australian designers behind the brands and of course the flowing Champagne meant Up Late goers were in for a treat!
In my opinion one of the best places to watch the action is from a comfortable table at Harveys Bar + Bistro. This year Harveys created a special lunch and dinner menu in partnership with the Up Late team – quail with beetroot, hazelnuts and labna, and lamb rump with tahini yoghurt, paired with Craggy Range wines. Needless to say we had beautiful food to accompany our great view!
We then wondered over to the pop-up bar happening in the car park behind the Bistro, with a DJ, cocktails and canapés it was another great addition to the Up Late scene.
With the opportunity to meet the who’s who of Australian style no wonder the stores were overflowing with happy customers. The highlight of my night would certainly be meeting designers Megan Park and Belynda McPherson in Samantha Ogilvie’s store. The new Aje store also opened their doors for Up Late, designers Adrian and Edwina were floating around the new store giving advice to eager shoppers!
