New Farm Six Cinemas played host to a wonderful selection of Jewish themed and directed films from November 21st to 29th. The festival aimed to promote tolerance for and amongst the Jewish people and showcased works set in both WWII and the contemporary Jewish lifestyle. Deeply moving and often strikingly intimate, films such as Natalie Portman’s A Tale of Love and Darkness and Maxime Giroux‘s haunting and unusual romance Felix and Meira, held the immense intrigue and passion of their Brisbane audiences. The 22nd November was enjoyed by many as the official opening of the Jewish International Film Festival in Brisbane.
