In response to COVID-19, there are specific changes to South Bank Parklands amenities and operations to keep everyone safe, including that all playgrounds, barbecues and swimming areas are closed until further notice and all events are on hold.

The volunteer program is also currently on hold, with the South Bank Visitor Information and Booking Centre being closed to visitors until further notice. However the South Bank Visitor Information and Booking Centre staff will still be able to answer questions via email: [email protected] or phone (07) 3029 1797

All toilets at Stanley Street Plaza are also closed to the public. But the toilets at Little Stanley Street, Aquativity, Central Cafes, River Quay and the Piazza remain open. The ‘Chairs to Share’ will not be placed on South Bank’s lawns until further notice. With restaurants and cafes at South Bank no longer providing dine-in service and instead are offering takeaway only. To see who is offering this service, please view the takeaway article. For eatery questions, please contact [email protected]. The public areas where liquor may normally be consumed, including the Riverside Green, Picnic Island Green and River Quay Green, were suspended from 30 March 2020.

South Bank Parklands has made these changes in the interest of public safety and apologises for any inconvenience caused. Any additional changes with regards to public activity are being made regularly by the Australian Government and Queensland Health.
