Le Festival 2018 will soon bring the luxury of France to Brisbane, with food connoisseurs and wine experts hosting a series of masterclasses that embrace everything France is famed for from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 July.

Launched in 2010, the Brisbane French Festival – now called Le Festival is a not-for-profit association that is run solely by volunteers. The celebration of all things French, is now the largest French festival in Australia. The festival aims to facilitate exchange between the French and Australian cultures. Driven by a community of diverse volunteers, exhibitors and partners, Le Festival presents Brisbane with timeless savoir-faire.

This year the festival is partnering with Le Cordon Bleu, offering a vast range of masterclasses specialising in French fashion, food, wine, cheese, champagne and perfume. Le Cordon Bleu is world renowned network of educational institutions dedicated to providing the highest level of culinary and hospitality programmes. Technical Director of Le Cordon Bleu Tom Milliganwill be exploring vegetarianism with a French twist demonstrating Ratatouille Provençale.

The hour long wine masterclasses on offer are also key highlights of this year’s festival, with DiscoverVin wine expert Craig Underhill taking guests on a tour of the elusive wines of Bergerac, Jurançon, Madiran, Saint Mont and Cahors. Other masterclasses include a champagne tasting class run by Bubble Diva from Effervescence Amanda Reboul, who was also a finalist in the Professional Division of the prestigious Vin de Champagne Awards in Australia, and a French cheese class from Pierre Lantourne of Le Fromage Yard. Le Festival will also feature an entertainment stage showcasing acts including can-can girls, gypsy jazz, the Heilani School of Polynesian Dance, the Viva la showgirls mini-cabaret and Amadeus Orchestra.
