Life in Irons: Brisbane’s Convict Stories successfully opened at the Museum of Brisbane on Thursday 17 May. This exhibition has unearthed some of the oldest original written documents in Queensland’s history, as well as personal accounts, contemporary art and immersive new technologies, detailing the trials, punishments and tribulations of British convicts, and providing a vivid insight into daily life in the settlement from 1824 to 1839. Guests had the opportunity to know the stories which were told through spoken word, historical artefacts and photographs on that day.
