Local dieticians and nutritionists and the owners of Two Greek Girls Cooking, Lisa Peterson and Desi Carlos, have just released their first cookbook, Mediterranean Eating: Cook – Eat – Live!
Their passion for good health and delicious food is reflected throughout the lifestyle book. Using simple language and scientific research about the Mediterranean Diet, the book also includes special meal plans for each individual’s calorie goals.
The Mediterranean diet has been proven to reduce incidence of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s, and to increase the longevity of life. “Based on research principles from the Mediterranean Diet, we promote wholesome meals, which the whole family will enjoy,” the authors said.
The recipes from the book are traditional family treasures, modified to reflect their “ground rules” for daily diets, encouraged on their website for calorie controlled meals.
Their Two Greek Girls Cooking brand also includes the hosting of regular Mediterranean Nourish Workshops and cooking demonstrations, helping clients to learn how to nourish their bodies.
