Just short of 100,000 people across 88 different locations in Australia from capital cities to remote towns took part in this year’s Mothers Day Classic breast cancer fundraising walk and run on Sunday 12 May. Brisbane’s event saw participants race around South Bank and West End The event is Australia’s largest breast cancer fundraiser and has so far raised more than $36 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s research to improve the detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer – with a set target of $40 million by 2020.
