As construction of Brisbane’s newest entertainment precinct nears completion, The Fortitude Music Hall has announced Mark Gibbons as Head of Bookings in a position that will see him also take over the booking role at The Triffid from 4 February 2019.

Located in Brunswick Street Mall in the heart of Fortitude Valley, The Fortitude Music Hall will pay homage to the iconic Brisbane venue Festival Hall, which occupied the space between 1959 and 2003. The new 3300 capacity venue, as well as The Triffid, will keep Mark busy in the significant role. Mark comes to the role with six year’s experience booking some of Sydney’s most iconic rooms for Century Venues in Sydney.

Venue Director John Collins said Mark’s expertise in booking multiple venues will be a massive asset. “His energy and enthusiasm are going to make him a great part of the team. I’m looking forward to working alongside him and building a great experience for the artist and Brisbane’s music fans,” said John.

Mark is equally as excited and believes the venue comes at a much-needed time of rapid growth and changes in Brisbane. “Working at Century Venues has taught me how important these spaces are to the fabric of the community around them. I believe that a city is only as strong as its culture,” Mark said. “Much has already been achieved in a short amount of time since the Triffid opened; with a core ethos on hospitality forwards and backward from the stage. The community that it’s spawned are a testament to that. I’m looking forward to getting started.”

The Fortitude Music Hall is a joint venture with Secret Sounds, Live Nation and the Triffid team and is due to open mid-2019.
