After three years of planning and construction, the Novotel Brisbane South Bank officially opened on Thursday 7 June. Located in the cultural hub of South Bank, the new hotel has been designed to celebrate theatre, arts and dining. Accor Vice President of Operations for Queensland and Nothern Territory Matt Young said, “whether you’re in town to see a performance at QPAC, attending a conference at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre, or simply want to indulge in quality food and wine, the Novotel South Bank is a lively and versatile destination”.

The hotel’s dedicated restaurant Spice Central Kitchen & Bar offers guests a unique interactive culinary experience with an exciting open-style kitchen. Head Chef Alex Goyard said the restaurant boasts a modern Australian menu infused with culturally inspired flavours with spices as the focal point. “With the hotel’s location in the heart of South Bank, it made sense that our open-design kitchen would provide a stage on which our chefs can create masterful dining moments for our guests,” said Alex. General Manager of Novotel Brisbane South Bank Jean Philippe Lagarde also said the open kitchen removes barriers from the overall culinary experience and invites guests to share in the sights and sounds as an aromatic fusion of flavours come together.

Iconic Brisbane landmarks such as the South Bank arbours and Kurilpa Bridge have inspired the 4.5 star hotel’s design, which was created by award-winning architects NRA Co Lab. Vast naturally lit spaces, wrought iron feature walls and an elegant mix of soft furnishings and textural fabrics are featured throughout the hotel’s interior. The 238 rooms are equipped with luxe amenities, including Smart TV’s with access to Netflix, Dyson hairdryers and in-room Nespresso coffee machines. Novotel Brisbane South Bank is located on the southern banks of the Brisbane River, surrounded by 17 hectares of lush parklands.
