South Bank’s Stoke Bar has closed its doors, making way for new bar Q to open after a four-week, million-dollar transformation on Monday 3 September.
Q will be located beside the iconic Stokehouse restaurant, and with views over the city, Q is a bar that is set to celebrate what it means to live in Queensland. With the iconic Brisbane River waterfront as the backdrop, framed by the big skies of Brisbane city, a Hand and Fork menu that champions local produce curated by Chef Richard Ousby, along with unique cocktails and entertainment awaits Brisbane locals.
Q is designed to be a place of gathering for people of like minds and for lovers of music and flavour. The redesign of Stoke Bar will take greater advantage of the river’s edge, with increased seating, booths, intimate spaces and a private lounge. Q is larger, extending the boardwalk experience with a wrap-around lounge seating combing Brisbane’s landscape with dining for a more overall experience.
Q’s Fork and Hand menu will star some 20 clever palate pleasers, and a whole new clever designed drink menu with a twist on names highlighting many famous Brisbane locals. Music will be a big part of Q with every Friday evening and Sunday afternoon hosting the cool tunes, DJs and live sound sessions. Q will be managed by Becki Parker.
