We spoke to Andrew Thompson, Project Director at West Village, about his favourite West End hotspots, and what he wished more people knew about the WV precinct.

Best thing about living or working in the 4101?

West End is such a vibrant precinct, it has such easy access to the best that Brisbane has to offer. Personally I enjoy the proximity to the cultural hub and having QPAC, GOMA and Queensland Theatre just a short walk away.

Favourite place for breakfast in the area?

Gunshop Café is my go-to for breakfast as they never disappoint. Cannot go past the pimped up avocado on toast with hummus, pumpkin and salad.

The best coffee can be found at …

Greek coffee after a great meal at the Little Greek Taverna on Boundary Street.

This winter, I will be doing more of …

Making the most of the cooler weather and exercising around the river edge. Our winter weather is the best in the world!

On Friday after work, you will find me …

Managing my kid’s footy team, which is actually more stressful than delivering West Village.

What I wish more people knew about the West Village precinct is …

The background of the developer, Sekisui House, and their philosophies on property development. They measure their business success on how their developments improve with time. It is such an interesting concept and something that I really value. It has been tried and tested over many years in Japan and I feel we are really fortunate to have their interest and investment in such a key location in Brisbane.
