We spoke to Dr Cara Jefferies, Doctor at West End Medical Practice, about her favourite West End hotspots, and what she wished more people knew about health and wellbeing.

Best thing about living or working in the 4101?

I love working as a doctor in West End. The area has such diverse and interesting people. Nowhere else I have worked has come close.

Favourite place for breakfast in the area?

I don’t tend to go out for breakfast but I currently have an obsession with the chicken Olympus wrap from Wrapture. I’m having it at least twice weekly for lunch.

The best coffee can be found at …

Ugees. I don’t like very strong coffee. I find their coffee mild and smooth and not at all bitter.

This autumn, I will be doing more of …

Cosmic Kids Yoga. A patient recently told me about it and both my children love it. We’ve all just started doing it together in the mornings and I feel better for the stretching.

On Friday after work, you will find me …

Sitting with my sister on her verandah watching our children play in the back yard.

What I wish more people knew about health and wellbeing is …

I wish more people knew that the meningococcal immunisation is available for free to certain age groups and privately to everyone. Meningitis is a devastating disease and there are now effective vaccinations.
