Around 50 classical music fans were among the first to be back at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) on Friday 28 August 2020 for the Opening Night of QPAC Unlocked. The Centre opened its doors to audiences for the first time since March with Wonderland – An Evening of Classics, in QPAC’s fine dining Lyrebird Restaurant. The evening featured performance by popular Opera Queensland soloists Katie Stenzel and Samuel Piper accompanied by acclaimed piano soloist Alex Raineri. Audiences were delighted to experience live performance again, savouring a program that included Mozart, Rossini, Debussy and Rogers and Hammerstein. The performance was paired with a delicious menu showcasing Queensland produce created by QPAC Executive Chef Joshua Wilby, complemented with matched wines. QPAC’s Chief Executive John Kotzas warmly welcomed the appreciative audience back to QPAC.
