The Queensland Poetry Festival celebrated its launch at Gilimbaa on Thursday, 20 July. The festival, now in its 21st year, will include workshops, a poetry zine fair, panels, readings, the Queensland Poetry Awards, and more. Joy Harjo and Courtney Sina Meredith are the Arts Queensland Poets in Residence, and Australian Ali Cobby Eckermann is the 2017 Indigenous Poet in Residence. The festival will run at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts from 24 to 27 August.
