Rise Overrun has been causing a nuisance in the dark valleys of Brisbane for several years now. Beginning as a one-man project for singer and guitarist Sam Grey, Rise Overrun is a lively four-piece alternative rock band captivating small stages around the country.
Their debut album ‘Earthbound’ hit the Internet full-speed in March 2014, and since then they have taken audiences across Australia on an eclectic, visceral and colourful musical journey with a national tour in November 2014. This year the band has been busy working on new music, new shows and new experiences for audiences across Australia.
Their new single ‘City‘ is a brooding tune, constantly holding balance between melancholy and anger. The impenetrable groove of Matt Wilder (drums) and John Bucknell (bass guitar) gives way to spacious melodies from Dylan Kidd (lead guitar) and the passionate vocal hooks of Grey. Hinting at more sounds to come, ‘City’ is Rise Overrun’s most memorable track yet.
Rise Overrun are crash landing The Milk Factory with their new single ‘City’ on September 19. Backed up by the unforgettable explosion of Gold Coast’s The Orchard and the colourful charm of locals The Buzzbees, they are hitting the ground running with new music, new coats, new rockets and shiny prints of their debut album, ‘Earthbound’. Head down to The Milk Factory and see what three bands and a brand new single can squeeze out of a cow.
