West End’s very own Brodie Lee Stubbins will compete in the national finals of the Wella TrendVison 2016 awards this weekend, 10 and 11 September, in Melbourne.
Owner of the award-winning Rokstar Salon in West End, Brodie has garnered a reputation as a rising star in the hairdressing industry. Her resume includes working at New York Fashion Week and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Sydney for notable designers Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney, Sass and Bide and Discount Universe, to name a few.
Brodie was announced as one of only ten Australian finalists in the Colour Vision category of the competition earlier this year, in June. The young hair stylist said she was shocked and delighted to be selected from 80 regional semi-finalists. “I was very surprised to get that far. I didn’t expect to make it through to the top ten,” Ms Stubbins said.
The awards, which recognize exceptional colouring techniques, cutting and finishing skills, aim to unleash the artistry of emerging hairdressers in one of the largest showcases of hairdressing talent. Winners of the Wella TrendVision National finals this weekend will go on to compete for a spot in the international competition, being held in Barcelona this November.
