Since winning the title in 2014, for the first time in 25 years, Brisbane State High has maintained its quality performances again this year and dominated in four of the age group races, placing a close second in one other.

QGSSSA Cross Country Master-in-Charge Mr John Davis said the individual and team performances were outstanding. “Our 17 Years Captain Olivia Bosnjak ran a great controlled race for her best ever QGSSSA result by placing third,” Mr Davis said. “She led by example with her spirited performance and in doing so guided the 17 Years team to a clean sweep of five age group wins in five years.”

Other significant performances included Georgie Gilroy (second) in the 12 years age division, Keira Moore (first) and Maddison Gross (second) in the 14 Years age division. The 15 Years team produced another State High individual winner with Emma Hossack running a mighty race. The 16 Years team capped off a remarkable day by winning their age group with informed runner Nikita Moore (first) leading home the scoring team.
