In celebration of its first year of trading, Saccharomyces Beer Café is throwing a weekend-long, pirate-themed party. There’s a lot on offer for guests!

Patrons have been promised fairy bread, lollies, pirate ship cake, and most importantly, a variety of IPAs from Saccharomyces’ favourite breweries.

On Sunday evening, a special guest alumnus will even be returning to his bartending role.

Located in the emerging area of Fish Lane, Saccharomyces staff are self-confessed, craft beer fanatics. Since its opening, it has served more than 300 tap and 200 packaged beers.

With an ever-changing beer menu, there’s something for everybody’s taste. Holding up the café end of the bargain, its doors are open in the morning with breakfast and artisan coffee for early risers.

“The first year has been steady – business is improving every week,” says owner, Simon Booy.

“We’re expecting big things once The Melbourne Residences is finalised and starts taking in tenants.”
