Hello fellow 4101ers and welcome to our first blog entry, the 411 on 4101. This column will be a little bit about me and the adventures encountered in this, our cultural hub of Brisbane, and a LOT about life in the area of the 4101 postcode and all it encompasses.

I moved to Highgate Hill in 2011 a few months after the water from the January floods had receded. I have lived here ever since and have loved every minute of being settled here.

I love the vibrancy, the colour and culture of the area. For me, the bustle of Boundary Street, the oh so effortlessly good-looking scenery of South Bank and the quirkiness of old and new in Woolloongabba all combine to create what I believe, is some, if not the best, that Brisbane has to offer.

This blog will touch on my favourite haunts – old and new, my encounters with you (the locals) and events that happen in this great postcode.

The most fascinating and exciting thing about 4101 to me is that it is constantly evolving and there is always something new to discover – a story to be told, a new coffee shop to try and a pop-up market just around the corner from where you are eating lunch.

So I hope you will join me on this journey through the alleyways of 4101 because there is so much to uncover… and I’d really like your company on the road with me.
