South City Square has welcomed Sunshine Coast Decisions Cafe’s little sister Tuckshop Time to its Woolloongabba precinct. Serving up a its unique spin on the classics, Tuckshop Time is reinventing a host of much-loved school yard snacks. Made fresh daily using locally sourced ingredients, Tuckshop Time’s offering includes fresh juices and smoothies like the fruit cup, home-made chicken baguettes and a chocolate brownie featuring Nutella mousse and Ferrero Rocher.

Greg Mclean and Caity Jones are the creative forces behind Tuckshop Time, both boasting impressive resumes in the hospitality industry. Before opening Decisions Café the young couple sold Your Place Espresso & Next Door Pizzeria in 2015 to pursue their passion for travel, but on a trip to American music festival Coachella, the couple had a realisation that led them to opening Decisions Café and ultimately back into the hospitality industry for the long-term. After an extensive period of researching and planning to ensure that their next venture was flawless and the right fit for their current portfolio, the duo is excited to bring their expertise and foodie knowledge to the South City Square community. “ After experiencing overwhelming success with our first venture Decisions café, we are excited to do it all again in Brisbane and debut Tuckshop Time, another never-before-seen concept,” said Greg. “ Our menu celebrates the classic flavours of the schoolyard, and we can’t wait to meet all of South City Square residents and help them relive their glory days!”

At first glance it is easy to see that Tuckshop Time’s design and fit-out matches its menu when it comes to originality. Vibrant colours including crisp white, pastel blues and lively pinks don the walls of the space complementing a quirky candy shop-style feature awning that sits at the entrance of the café, creating the perfect welcome. Overlooking Deshon Street, Tuckshop Time flows out onto one of South City Square’s many green spaces providing the perfect place for residents to sit back, relax and enjoy their favourite snacks.

Property and construction firm Pellicano has teamed up with Tuckshop Time to open a second café at its newest retail destination on the Sunshine Coast, The Point. Pellicano’s Queensland Development Manager Michael Kent said Tuckshop Time has been highly anticipated among South City Square residents, believing that the reason why is due to the café being the perfect fit for the project’s buyer demographic. “South City Square has seen an influx in young couples, first-home buyers and downsizers who appreciate the creative and innovative food offering that Greg and Caity are offering at Tuckshop Time,” said Kent. “We are thrilled to cater to these residence and welcome Tuckshop Time to the South City Square family.”

Tuckshop Time is located at 146 Logan Road and is open from 6am to 6pm seven days a week.
