St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) Queensland held the official shop blessing for its new West End store on the morning of  19 July 2019, located on Montague Road. Vinnies invite local and regional dignitaries to the shop blessing as a way to welcome the new store into the community.

The St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland believe that this new store will have a positive impact on the West End community. Vinnies stores are run by local volunteers and are a support hub for many locals of the area. Everyone is urged to visit Vinnies new West End site, have a look around and maybe make a few purchases, as there are always many hidden treasures to be found in all of the Vinnies stores. Community donations such as pre-loved clothing, furniture and books are encouraged to assist Vinnies in raising vital funds to continue their community work.

In February of this year the Vinnies celebrated 125 years of providing support and assistance to Queenslanders in need. As a community, many are aware of the impact that Vinnies have had on a multitude of lives. Vinnies is a non-profit organisation that relies on volunteers. Homelessness, people in need of housing, migrants and refugees, seniors, people with disability, and children and families are just some of the many groups of people in need that Vinnies continuously assist by providing ongoing aid and “encouraging them to take control of their own destiny”.
