Brisbane’s most passionate business women enjoyed drinks at dusk overlooking the river at Stokehouse Q on Thursday, 8 September, striving to create change for the 700,000 young Aussies with high care needs.
Youngcare‘s ‘Y Women’ Cocktail Event raised $19, 891 towards the charity, which endeavours to provide adequate accommodation solutions for young Australian’s in unfortunate circumstances, and ultimately prevent them from transitioning in and out of aged care facilities.
Among the passionate women at the event was NOVA radio announcer Katie Mattin, who recently completed Youngcare’s Simpson Desert Challenge, and triple Olympian, Lisa Curry AO OAM MBE. Lisa’s motivating speech was truly inspiring and brought up pertinent issues surrounding care for the disabled today, tying together a great evening in the name of a worthy cause.
